The short-course off-road racing docuseries “Rush,” produced by Impulse Media, has been nominated for a 2024 International Motor Film Award in the Best Documentary Episode category. The seven-part series follows the drivers competing for the 2022 AMSOIL Championship Off-Road PRO-2 title.
In the winter of 2021, the three members of Impulse Media, Jeffrey Keeble, Lyle Keeble, and Tito Labine, began laying out the groundwork to film and later edit a docuseries on one of the PRO divisions of AMSOIL Championship Off-Road. They put the project in motion, and the result was a documentary that followed PRO-2 racers during the 2022 race season. The team completed the year-long process and released the project on YouTube at the start of the 2023 Champ Off-Road season. Immediately, “Rush” received very positive reviews within the off-road community. However, Lyle Keeble wanted Short-Course off-road racing to reach a broader audience.
The younger Keeble brother took a chance and submitted “Episode 4: Old Dogs, New Tricks” to the International Film Awards’ Best Documentary Episode category. The London-based organization was impressed with the entry and included it among other submissions worldwide.
“Our team is passionate about short-course off-road racing, and we wanted to showcase the other side of Champ Off-Road and short-course off-road. We wanted the audience to connect with the drivers by understanding their competitive spirit, struggles, and triumphs,” noted Impulse Media Owner Jeffrey Keeble. “We believe we have succeeded. Regardless of the outcome in London, we are proud of our work and hope this project will bring more attention to the sport.”
The 2024 International Motor Film Awards has nominated over 200 entries for the top title in seventeen categories. The Awards Night will take place on October 4th at Alexandra Palace in London, England. Impulse Media will attend to experience the event and network with other film industry professionals.
