Track Press: Two Stops at Dirt City for the 2024 National Tour

Oct 10, 2023

Lena, Wisc. (October 9, 2023) – Dirt City and Champ Off-Road have agreed to include a second national event in the 2024 AMSOIL Championship, presented by the US Air Force. Initially, the May event was for Sportsman competitors only. However, following a productive meeting, Dirt City will now host two weekends of racing on the National Tour: one in May and the other in July.

Last Wednesday, representatives from Dirt City, COR, and MORR met to discuss the upcoming race season, which saw COR add the Dirt City Spring event to the national event schedule.

Don Demeny pointed out that Dirt City was constructed initially with the Sportsman race membership of MORR (Midwest Off-Road Racing) in mind. “Without their support, this facility wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to that initial success, Champ Off-Road took a chance on us and added our facility to the National Tour. Having two race weekends supports our pledge to give the Sportsman places to race. Four years later, thanks to the hard work of our volunteer staff, our May event will be on the National stage.”

“When Frank (DeAngelo, Series Director) and I met with everyone,” noted COR president Carl Schubitzke, “we discussed the upcoming season and after witnessing the Dirt City’s continued growth year after year, Champ Off-Road was interested in adding track’s Mayhem at the Motorplex springtime event as a Sportsman and Pro points event. After some discussion, the Dirt City board agreed. We’re glad to have partners like Dirt City as we continue to provide a national stage for Pro and Sportsman drivers.”

More information about the two short-course Dirt City race weekends and the 2024 AMSOIL Championship, presented by the US Air Force, will be released in the coming weeks.
