Championship Off-Road Adds to 2024 Schedule with Return to Crandon and Cup Race in Memory of Kyle LeDuc

Just five weeks after AMSOIL Championship Off-Road announced its six-weekend, 12-round schedule for 2024, the series is happy to announce several significant changes to next year’s season, including the return of two rounds in Crandon and a Cup race in honor of the late Kyle LeDuc.

After experiencing four consecutive seasons of successful growth, Champ Off-Road had to face a little competition of its own after the 2023 season wrapped up in Oklahoma. A competing short-course off-road racing series entered the arena causing a rift within the sport. As a result, historical date changes were made in addition to the removal of Crandon from the Champ schedule.

After the dust settled six weeks later, the new series had to fold which opened the door for Champ Off-Road’s return to Crandon. There are now two weekends of high-revving off-road racing in Crandon back on the schedule for Champ next summer.

“It has been a rough couple of months, but hopefully all for a better future,” said Carl Schubitzke, the president of the International Series of Champions. “There is no doubt that we are stronger with Crandon as a partner, and all of our events and partners benefit from the series racing at the Big House. We felt great about our schedule before, including adding Mayhem at the Motorplex and South Dakota. Now, adding those two Crandon dates gives us better balance and strength moving forward.”

Crandon will also be adding a $25,000 purse at each of their weekends for the PRO2 and PRO4 categories. This brings the Championship Series to a total of eight weekends and 15 rounds of racing in 2024. Here is a breakdown of the schedule changes and updates:

  • The season will start in Lena, Wis., May 18-19, and then head to Antigo for the weekend of June 8-9.
  • Spring Crandon will slot into its typical weekend of racing, June 22-23.
  • The original August ERX date for 2024 will move back into July (12-13), with a second round in Lena from July 27-28.
  • Bark River was initially scheduled to race in September 2024 but will return to its historical weekend of August 10-11.
  • Fall Crandon will be held over Labor Day weekend (August 30-31).
  • The season will wrap up with the Black Hills Shootout in Deadwood, S.D. September 28-29.

The Race for Kyle Cup

The off-road family was heartbroken by the recent news that short-course champion Kyle LeDuc had lost his year-long battle with cancer. His death leaves a hole that will be impossible to fill over the coming weeks, months, and years.

Almost everybody in the world is affected by cancer or knows somebody close to them fighting a courageous battle for their health. When somebody loses their battle, it hurts all of us. It only hurts more when we lose somebody who was so beloved by the entire community such as Kyle is.

In 2024, Championship Off-Road and the Antigo Lions Club will honor the late, great off-road legend with the inaugural Race for Kyle Cup. On Sunday, June 9th, in Antigo, Wis., the Antigo Lions Roaring Raceway will be a PRO2 versus PRO4 Memorial Cup race, with half of the proceeds going to the LeDuc family.
